Health & Fitness

Our Goals

One of the sorority’s most vital Five Point Thrust programs is Physical and Mental Health.  As an organization of over 250,000 predominately African-American women, the sorority is uniquely positioned to impact the well-being of its members, their families and the communities they serve.  The Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter has proudly established several community partnerships with health agencies to better meet this call to action as we impact communities and positively change lives.

Several years ago the Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter developed a new partnership with Sisters Network Inc.

This organization of African-American breast cancer survivors impacts the community in a unique way by going door to door during its annual Gift for Life Block Walk.  Volunteers provide breast cancer awareness information as well as resources for where high risk women can obtain screening mammograms for free or at a reduced cost.

As always, the Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter is committed to addressing cancer and other health disparities.
